Goal Achieved (sort of) – seeing a volcano erupt

Hawaii – Big Island December 2005.

On an island wide trip we visited the south part of the Big island and saw (from a distance) steam being emitted from a lava flow entering the Pacific Ocean.

For me it doesn’t count because I wanted to see an actual lava flow. Unfortunately no flows were easily accessible during the period we were there. I’m going to give myself a temporary achievement until we visit the Big Island again.
